Trae Young 3

An early exit from the 2023 NBA playoffs for the Atlanta Hawks has meant the franchise’s star three-point assassin has stayed mostly out of the headlines. But instead he is making splashes off the court, with images showing his new Trae Young 3 shoe design.

Adidas is set to release it’s third instalment of Trae Young’s signature shoes later this year, following the Hawks’ point guard unveiling what seems to be one of the colour-ways for the rumoured upcoming drop on social media.

Trae Young 3
Atlanta’s shooting sensation has a signature shoe coming, the Trae Young 3.

It was posted with a picture of himself alongside his father and 1-year-old son, each holding a pair of the unreleased shoe, in an attempt to act quickly after images were leaked of the Trae Young 3 before any announcement had been made by the German owned company.

Trae Young, alongside Timberwolves’ guard Anthony Edwards who is rumoured to be having a signature shoe dropping soon, are expected to be the face of Adidas basketball for the next decade, with the two young guns already starring in All-Star and postseason games.

‘Another day, another opportunity’ has become Young’s catchphrase on Twitter and this next shoe opportunity could be his best yet. So here’s everything we know so far about the upcoming Trae Young 3.

When are the Trae Young 3 sneakers being released?

No official information has been released yet by Adidas regarding a release date or the exact cost of the Trae Young 3.

Going off his previous signature shoe release, the Trae Young 2s came out in September 2022 so many are predicting a similar timeframe for this instalment.

Sneaker News is reporting that the colour-way shown in the social media post from Trae Young will be available for purchasing around September, supporting the notion of a similar release timeframe.

Whilst another leaked colour-way which is much more plain – white and silver – is being scheduled for a December drop.

Anticipation for the Trae Young 3 is growing.

How much do the Trae Young 3 sneakers cost?

Again going off the previous release of the Trae Young 2, those launched for a retail price of $140 USD which equates to around $210 AUD.

Unlike some hyped Nike or Jordan releases such as the upcoming Air Jordan 1 ‘UNC toe’, these Trae Young 3 sneakers should be quite easy to get your hands on and will be available at select sneaker reatilers.

What are the details on the Trae Young 3 sneakers?

Contrasting his previous two designs, Trae Young has finally opted against the sock-like construction and has shifted to the regular lace-up feel.

There is an obvious Adidas look to the Trae Young 3, which follows the topographic aesthetics which Kanye West had on some of his Yeezy line with the German brand.

A bulky, exaggerated outer sole is another difference on this instalment and has really taken the Trae Young line to another level in peoples opinions.

With very little detail released regarding the Trae Young 3, we will have to wait until later when it’s official to understand more about what is shaping up to be a must cop for basketballers around the globe.

Which NBA players have recently entered the signature shoe realm?

It’s a benchmark that all budding basketball megastars strive towards and there’s been plenty of news in that space recently.

The most recent news has seen Phoenix Suns point guard have his first signature shoe announced, set for a 2024 arrival.

That follows Jayson Tatum and Ja Morant, but Morant’s release has been complicated by troubling recent behavioural issues.
