Nine and the Panthers have partnered to produce a docu-series titled, ‘Undisputed’.
There’s been many all-time great teams in the history of Australian Rugby League — the Dragons in the ’70s, Broncos teams of the late-90s-early-2000s, the Melbourne Storm more recently as well.
But none of them achieved what the Penrith Panthers have — an illusive three-peat of premierships.
It’s a feat we haven’t seen for 40 years; it undoubtedly deserves the docco treatment we all crave like nothing else these days.
So Nine’s Wide World of Sports is releasing a new docu-series that’s offering fans behind-the-scenes footage and interviews of the Panthers’ quest for a third consecutive title; a mission completed in October, 2023. It’s called ‘Undisputed’.
‘Undisputed’: Inside the Panthers’ 2023 Finals Series

As the title indicated, Undisputed was the Panthers’ theme throughout last season, attempting to win a third-straight premiership and be considered the ‘undisputed’ champions of the NRL.
Taking you through the inner sanctum of arguably the greatest team of the modern era, the NRL community will be shown an in-depth view of Penrith’s preparation for each game of the 2023 NRL Finals Series.

When will the Panthers documentary be released?
February 16, February 23, March 1
Nine’s Wide World of Sports is releasing the first of three episodes on Friday, February 16 — that’s two weeks before the start of the 2024 season, which of course is in Vegas.
Episodes two and three will be available to watch the following Fridays — episode two Feb 23, and the final episode March 1.
A three-part series
Over three episodes, we’ll see the highs and lows – mostly highs, let’s be honest – of the Panthers incredible run to the finish line, after another dominant campaign.
The Panthers did what no club had done since the early 1980’s, when Parramatta claimed a triple-crown from 1981-83.
And who can forget, literally ever, how the Grand Final played out; coming from 24-8 behind in the second half to win the premiership off the back of a Nathan Cleary legacy moment.
We’re yet to really see what it all looked like from the perspective of Penrith’s sideline bench and, of course, from up in Nathan’s father Ivan Cleary’s coach’s box. Until now.

“There’s a lot that goes into a rugby league season, especially through a finals campaign, and we’re proud that our cameras captured exclusive inner sanctum insights that incur inside our club.
“We also take immense pride in showcasing our players beyond the rugby league limelight, highlighting that there is a depth to their identity beyond the game they play.”
Special guest narrator
Adding another intriguing element to the release, Undisputed will be narrated by high-profile Panthers supporter Mick Fanning — better known for his exploits as a former professional surfer and puncher of sharks.

As mentioned, Penrith were down 24 points to 8 in the second half… and somehow found a way to come back and beat Brisbane.
