Share

Australia is into the World Cup final! Alyssa Healey stepped up in the Semi, but each of the 11 players could be the one to play a starring role in the decider. Here’s what they all bring.

Rachael Haynes

The vastly experienced Rachael Haynes has become one of Australia’s most adaptable players across a career of more than 10 years that has seen her bat in almost every top order position in all three formats.

Alyssa Healy

The niece of Australian cricket great Ian Healy and wife to Aussie fast-bowling star Mitchell Starc, Alyssa Healy possesses outstanding glovework behind the stumps and has become one of the most destructive batters in world cricket.

Ashleigh Gardner

All-rounder Ashleigh Gardner is a cricketer on the rise and continues to perform strongly and was named the 2021-22 Belinda Clark Award winner as Australia’s best female international player.

Meg Lanning

Nicknamed ‘the Megastar’, Meg Lanning is captain of the Aussie side, is an aggressive batter and one of the best female cricket players in the world.

Beth Mooney

Mooney can bat anywhere and is as consistent as she is versatile… which also extends to being an accomplished wicketkeeper in her own right.

Tahlia McGrath

All-rounder Tahlia McGrath is a class player with both bat and ball. She’s gritty at the crease and always steps up when handed the ball.

Annabel Sutherland

Young gun Annabel Sutherland has an exciting future ahead. She’s an aggressive middle order hitter and a clutch bowler.

Darcie Brown

19-year-old Darcie Brown is among the most exciting fast-bowling talents in world cricket, has the ability to swing the new ball and send down the odd vicious bouncer.

Jess Jonassen

Left-arm spinner Jess Jonassen is a hugely adaptable bowler who is capable of operating at any stage of limited-overs innings, from taking the new ball to bowling at the death.

Alana King

A prolific right-arm leg-spinner, Alana King grew up idolising Shane Warne and made her Test, ODI and T20 debuts all in the space of a fortnight.

Megan Schutt

The ultra-consistent Megan Schutt has been an integral member of the Australian side with her big in-swingers and leg-cutters her trademark deliveries.

BONUS: Ellyse Perry

Unavailable for the Semi (back spasms), fingers crossed Ellyse Perry can get up for the big one. She’s a proven match-winner, plus a global icon of cricket and world sport.
