2023 was a massive year for Australia’s Men’s and Women’s teams, defined by World Cups and Ashes glory, and there’s plenty on the line for 2024’s cricketing schedule too.
There is no rest for the wicked, or Australia’s elite cricketers. Just when it seemed the cricketing schedule couldn’t get any busier, it got busier. If that was even possible.

Once viewed as strictly a summer sport, modern cricket requires year-round commitment from its star players, due in part to the sport’s enormous growth in recent years, particularly in its shorter formats, but also the greed of administrations.
Both Australia’s men’s and women’s cricket sides will be busy from pretty much the year’s beginning to end, with both sides set to contest a T20 World Cup amid all the chaos.
As fans, we’re not going to complain. One must feel for the players, who attempt to manage their personal lives with their national team duties, and any other domestic competitions like the Big Bash or the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Australia’s men’s side begins and ends the year on home soil, with a Test match against Pakistan in early January kicking off a busy schedule. A hotly anticipated Boxing Day Test against India will cap it all off; and a chance to rectify recent failed Border-Gavaskar trophy missions, including on home soil.
For Pat Cummins’s outfit, the year will see the dawn of a new era, as opener David Warner calls time on his Test career after the Pakistan series’ conclusion in January. How exactly Australia replaces the man known as the Bull will be the question burning everyone’s lips. Will they promote Mitch Marsh or Marnus Labuschange up the order, or hand the in-form Cameron Bancroft or Matt Renshaw a Test return?
For the women’s side, they begin their year touring India and end it on the road in New Zealand for a trio of ODI’s before the Ashes in early 2025. Can anyone knock them off their perch as women’s cricket’s most dominant force?
Both sides have been on an incredible trajectory in recent years and will be looking to continue their incredible domination of all three formats of the game over the year and cement themselves as truly all-time great sides.
We’ve run our eyes over both sides’ schedules and provided you with a complete rundown of every time you’ll be able to catch them throughout 2024.
