The huge home-run that’s got MLB fans in a frenzy

The Baseball world is in raptures after Yordan Alvarez’s history-making walk-off home run lifted the Houston Astros to an unlikely MLB Playoffs win.

Well, that just doesn’t happen.

Houston Astros slugger Yordan Alvarez has gone where no-one has gone before.

In game one of the Astros’ five-game series with the Seattle Mariners, Alvarez resurrected his Houston from the jaws of defeat; down 7-3 ahead of the eighth inning and 7-5 down deep into the ninth.

The big-hitting lefty took matters into his own hands, belting a fast ball into the stands, clinching an all-important win for the home side at Minute Maid Park.

That’s not the only thing that makes it special though – the walk-off home run created MLB Playoffs history; it’s the first walk-off home-run in postseason history where a team was down by multiple runs.

And of course, being such an unlikely occurrence, it’s sent Twitter into a frenzy.

That’s 187.8 km/h and 133m – huge.
