Time to book Thredbo.

As the calendar rolls around into March and summer ends, it can only mean one thing – the snow season is nearly here!

Snow enthusiasts will be hoping for a return to a ‘normal’ winter season after the past two Australian snow seasons were heavily affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, lockdowns and restrictions.

The recent Beijing Winter Olympics were Australia’s most successful ever Winter Olympics after winning four medals – one goal, two silver and one bronze over the course of the competition.

On the back of the Beijing success, many people would have been glued to their TV screens watching our Aussie athletes with countless fans planning on hitting the slopes for a snow holiday.

The 2022 snow season is due to start on June 11 with Thredbo recently announcing their winter season passes with numerous offerings for skiers and snowboarders.

Season passes are currently on sale while day passes, rental and lessons will be available from early March.

Day passes will be priced from $179 for adults and $95 for children, with full pricing and product information available from early March.

Thredbo Resort has numerous amounts of snow terrain for all ages and abilities, a wide range of lessons and programs and a calendar packed with events.

The base of the mountain features a vibrant village with accommodation, restaurants, bars, cafes and retail shops.

Thredbo recently won Australia’s Best Ski resort in the World Ski Awards for the fifth consecutive year and Thredbo General manager Stuart Diver is advising guests to book early to avoid disappointment.

“Our number one priority is to offer an exceptional customer experience,” Diver said.

“We encourage guests to plan their visit early, book in advance and be flexible with travel dates to avoid disappointment.”

The 2022 calendar at Thredbo will feature plenty of events and entertainment, both on and off the snow, with a range of unique mountain experiences.

These include the once-in-a-lifetime Sunrise Sessions (early morning access to view the sunrise from the top of Karels T-bar, Australia’s Highest Lifted Point and then be the first to ski down Super rail), the Merritts Mountain Haus Feasts and the deluxe Kareela Hutte Dinners via snowcat.

Snowmaking improvements have been made at Thredbo with a focus to increase the amount of snow coverage at the beginners’ area and across the mountain.

Friday Flat will have six new fixed snowmaking guns and four mobile snowmaking guns added to the already significant snowmaking fleet.

In addition, Thredbo has a new Easy Rider T-Bar in the Cruiser Area that will increase rider capacity by over 35 per cent, making for faster laps through the popular Merritts Terrain park.
