NRLW 2023 contract window
Millie Boyle becomes one of the biggest names of the NRLW 2023 contract window. Boyle’s first game as a Rooster will be against former club the Broncos.

The season will kick off on July 22 with a Saturday Queensland derby between the Gold Coast Titans and the North Queensland Cowboys. After that, reigning champions the Newcastle Knights will host the Dragons at McDonald Jones Stadium. And to conclude a huge opening day, the Broncos will battle the Roosters on the Sunshine Coast.

Unfortunately, most Round 1 games will be competing with Men’s Round 21 NRL action. Our solution? Sort out a second screen in the lounge room.

Who are the new teams in the NRLW 2023?

Four new teams will join the NRLW in 2023 – the Canberra Raiders, Cronulla Sharks, North Queensland Cowboys and Wests Tigers.

NRLW 2023 key dates

Season opener – July 22

NRLW 2023 Grand Final – October 1

The NRLW 2023 regular season is nine regular season rounds before finals — the longest season the NRLW has ever had.

Like in 2022, the NRL Telstra Women’s Premiership Grand Final will be played before the men’s final on Sunday, October 1 in what will be a huge double header final.

“This year’s NRL Telstra Women’s Premiership will be super charged with four new teams, nine regular-season rounds, followed by semi finals and a Grand Final,” NRL CEO Andrew Abdo said.

“In 2023, there will be new rivalries and new timeslots with every match being broadcast on free-to-air TV nationally with primetime coverage for the first time ever.
