As expected, it promises to be bigger and better than ever; new teams and an extended season. And on top of that, the 2023 season will also see matches played in primetime; a first for the league. Bring it on.

When does the NRLW season start?
Saturday, July 22
Titans v Cowboys, Saturday 12:50pm, Cbus Super Stadium
Knights v Dragons, Saturday 3:10pm, McDonald Jones Stadium
Broncos v Roosters, Saturday 7:45pm, Sunshine Coast Stadium (Kawana)
The season will kick off on July 22 with a Saturday Queensland derby between the Gold Coast Titans and the North Queensland Cowboys. After that, reigning champions the Newcastle Knights will host the Dragons at McDonald Jones Stadium. And to conclude a huge opening day, the Broncos will battle the Roosters on the Sunshine Coast.
Unfortunately, most Round 1 games will be competing with Men’s Round 21 NRL action. Our solution? Sort out a second screen in the lounge room.
Who are the new teams in the NRLW 2023?
Four new teams will join the NRLW in 2023 – the Canberra Raiders, Cronulla Sharks, North Queensland Cowboys and Wests Tigers.
The new teams and new salary cap have led to some huge transfers ahead of NRLW 2023.

NRLW 2023 Grand Final – October 1
The NRLW 2023 regular season is nine regular season rounds before finals — the longest season the NRLW has ever had.
Like in 2022, the NRL Telstra Women’s Premiership Grand Final will be played before the men’s final on Sunday, October 1 in what will be a huge double header final.
“This year’s NRL Telstra Women’s Premiership will be super charged with four new teams, nine regular-season rounds, followed by semi finals and a Grand Final,” NRL CEO Andrew Abdo said.
“In 2023, there will be new rivalries and new timeslots with every match being broadcast on free-to-air TV nationally with primetime coverage for the first time ever.

Every match of the NRLW season will be available on Channel 9, 9 Now, Fox League and Kayo.
