This artistic superfan’s problem that isn’t going away

San Francisco 49ers superfan Rita Carvalho has embarked on a bizarre daily tradition, drawing star quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo every day until he got traded.

After an injury riddled season and the emergence of Trey Lance as the heir-apparent, Garoppolo was expected by many to be traded away as soon as the NFL season ended.

Jimmy G still remains a 49er and there looks to be no traction on a potential move any time soon, after the rumour mills suggested he would have been moved in early February.

Following an NFL off-season where Russell Wilson, Baker Mayfield and Deshaun Watson all found new homes as their sides presumptive starting quarterbacks, it came as a shock to many that Jimmy hadn’t found a new home.

After the 49ers NFL season concluded on January 30, Carvalho, along with many other football fans knew the end was near for what was an eventful ride with Jimmy G controlling the offence.

Consequently, Carvalho combined her artistic skills with her love for the 49ers and began making a custom drawing of Garoppolo everyday until he was traded.

190 days later, Carvalho and the NFL world is still waiting for Jimmy G to be moved, resulting in what is now a daily tradition on the now famous twitter account.

Garoppolo himself has seen the daily drawings and complemented Carvalho’s abilities and jokingly suggested she wouldn’t be ending her tradition anytime soon.

The NFL world eagerly awaits the end of this saga and where Garoppolo may end up, which would spell the end of what has become an internet sensation.
