Max Verstappen has continued a dominant 2022 F1 season, winning a record 14th Grand Prix to draw clear of some elite competition.
Having secured his second consecutive Drivers Championship following a win in the Japanese GP, Max Verstappen has continued his dominance.
Verstappen drew level with Michael Schumacher’s 2004 season and Sebastian Vettel’s 2013 season after winning the US GP last week, with 13 wins each.
His win at the Mexican GP is his 14th for the season, setting a new record as he draws clear of his elite company.
He also set a new record for the most points in an F1 season, eclipsing Lewis Hamilton’s 413 points in the 2019 season.
Verstappen now sits on 416 points with two races remaining in the season.
History was on Verstappen’s side, having won the Mexican GP in 2017, 2018 and 2021, while his pole position start was also his sixth of 2022.
The Brazilian GP is up next, with the final taking place on November 14 (Australian time), with the Abu Dhabi GP the following week.
