Bolt’s keeping busy, as his ambitious new venture is revealed

Usain Bolt hasn’t given up the hustle, set to cash in on the post-race pose that’s helped make the superstar one of the most recognisable athletes on the planet.

Jamaican native Usain Bolt has big plans.

Set to embark on his next venture, one of sport’s biggest names has filed a trademark application for his iconic ‘To Di World’ pose.

“The mark consists of the silhouette of a man in a distinctive pose, with one arm bent and pointing to the head, and the other arm raised and pointing upward,” the application to the United States Patent and Trademark Office reads.

Bolt’s next step reveals plans to release a line of clothes, sunglasses, jewellery bags, restaurants and exclusive track-and-field wear.

He’s also filed an application for his signature.

The 36-year-old has remained busy since retiring from athletics in 2017, famously having a trial stint with A-League side Central Coast Mariners in 2018.

Bolt ultimately ended his football career eight weeks after starting it and published his ambitions to play wide receiver in the NFL, if the league became more strict with its concussion rules.

The eight-time Olympic gold medalist has been active in pursuing careers outside of sport, co-founding a micro mobility company ‘Bolt Mobility’ where they have planned to release a scooter and an electric car in the near future.

Bolt has also dabbled as a music producer and artist, dropping five songs on the ‘Olmype Rose’ album, before releasing his own song in 2021, titled ‘Living the Dream’.

Bolt is not the first athlete to release their own brand of exclusive clothing items, of course. It’s fairly common practice with superstar athletes these days.

But in the Jamaican’s case, Puma will also be involved in the process. The German clothing company announced a new ‘lifetime’ endorsement deal with Bolt last year.
