Ed Langdon has poured petrol on his side’s Friday night blockbuster with Collingwood.
It’s a mouthwatering top four clash, as the Pies look to extend their ten-win streak and jump Melbourne in the process, into the top two.
We didn’t necessarily ask for any extra media-generated spice ahead of a clash that sells itself, but the Dees winger stepped up to the plate anyway.
Speaking on SEN, Langdon went full boxing promotor and labeled Collingwood ‘all duck and no dinner’.
LANGDON ON COLLINGWOOD: They are all duck and no dinner in a sense if they are playing fast footy on their terms they are hard to stop but they are a bit of a one trick pony at times so hopefully we can dampen the way they want to play.

Getting to 3rd on the ladder with 14 wins from 19 starts despite having a 106.2% for-and-against percentage is unheard of. But the Pies’ ability to win the close ones over the last two-and-a-half months has been unprecedented. It’s certainly left the Melbourne-based heavyweight open to discussion around their true credentials.
And not only does Langdon have an opinion, clearly, but it was incredibly refreshing to see an AFL player so open about voicing it, in an age where robotic responses are beaten into professional footballers.
Make no mistake, all 22 Magpies players will go into the juicy encounter having been comprehensively briefed on what one of the opposition players said publicly.
Good on Ed Langdon for not swimming between the flags. How much more interesting would the whole thing be if those on the game’s front line weren’t terrified to say something. Thanks for coming on the show. @TheRunHomeSEN

Ed Langdon’s comments will probably mean an extra 10,000 through the gate and another 100,000 with eyeballs on the telly tomorrow night. More of it please ????

Fair to say the feedback from most non-Pies supporters has been largely positive.
So let’s hope he hasn’t received a slap on the wrist internally, as he’s just gifted the opposition outfit even more motivation to jump out of the blocks and start physically.
We need more Ed Langdons in sport.

There is no more precious group than the AFL community.

Ed Langdon doesn’t rate Collingwood and was prepared to say that. What’s the issue? Or do we just want boring interviews full of no personality and read from the media managers script.
I can’t wait to hear the sweet sound of booing echoing around the MCG as soon as Ed Langdon gets his first possession
