football, how to watch, Australia

Australia may be on the other side of the world for some the globe for some of the biggest football competitions around but that doesn’t mean Australians are any further from the action.

Thanks largely to several broadcast deals, football is readily available to any Australian wishing to dive deep into the action. Whether they desire tuning into one of Europe’s top five leagues or something more local, such as the A-Leagues, there is a platform available for everyone.

Unlike other major sporting codes, there are very limited free-to-air broadcast options for Australian soccer fans. On top of this, no sole provider has consolidated football broadcasting in Australia, meaning the many leagues are shown on many different providers, with some overlap.

In case you were wondering, we’ve compiled a list of how you can tune into some of the world’s biggest leagues, and those a little closer to home as well.

Optus Sport from $24.99/month

While the streaming service was initially met with dismay, especially given Foxtel’s long and successful broadcast of the English top-flight before that, Optus Sport is now a product of high quality where every Premier League match is available to stream live or on demand.
