Australia has a proud history of developing incredible basketball players. And as we enter a new season, it’s time to get a refresher on where all the Australian NBA players are.
After a disappointing end to the international basketball season, with the Boomers exiting the FIBA World Cup in the second-round, time has come for the star players to return to their franchises.
Many of the Boomers superstars call the United States home from October through to June, but for some, they’ve moved cities this off-season.
Patty Mills has moved on from Brooklyn, Jock Landale has received good coin to move to Texas, while future stars Josh Giddey and Dyson Daniels are staying put with their exciting young teams.
With tip-off finally here, let’s have a look at where all the Australian NBA players are for the 2023/24 season. We’ve listed them in alphabetical order.
Where are all the Australian NBA players at?
Dyson Daniels – New Orleans Pelicans
Daniels is entering his ‘sophomore year’ in the NBA, which is notorious for being a make-or-break season. We’ve all got confidence he can have a break out year in New Orleans.
Dante Exum – Dallas Mavericks
After a couple years abroad with Barcelona, Exum returns to the NBA as a backup guard for Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving.
Josh Giddey – Oklahoma City Thunder
Year 3 for Giddey is shaping up to be the most exciting for the Australian superstar, with the Thunder a genuine chance of winning a Playoff series or two.
Josh Green – Dallas Mavericks
Mavericks coach Jason Kidd was full of praises for Green last season, as the 23-year-old took a more crucial role player job on a Dallas side that will be fighting to make the playoffs once again.
Joe Ingles – Orlando Magic
Moving onto his third franchise, Ingles will be a vital veteran on a youthful Magic squad desperate to climb up the standings in the east.

Although Irving has only ever represented the United States, he is an Australian. After a turbulent 12 months, Irving will be looking to play his best basketball alongside MVP hopeful Luke Doncic.
Jock Landale – Houston Rockets
If it wasn’t for his incredible performance at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Landale may not be in the situation he’s in now – entering his third year in the NBA. How much more improvement can we see from the big?
Makur Maker – Toronto Raptors
Maker is a name to watch this season, as he begins his push for an NBA career. A former NBL champion, Maker went undrafted in 2022 and is looking to prove people wrong with a young Raptors side. So far in 2023-24, Maker has been playing in the G-League with the Raptors 905 side.
Patty Mills – Miami Heat
The superstar of Australian basketball is now onto his fifth NBA franchise – traded to the Miami Heat – and couldn’t be fitting in any better, partnering up with a serious championship contending side in Miami, stacked with elite talent.
Duop Reath – Portland Trail Blazers
Reath first shot at the NBA comes at the experienced age of 27 with a new look Portland side without Damian Lillard. Australian fans are eager to see him back up a strong World Cup showing.
Ben Simmons – Brooklyn Nets
Australian supporters are desperate to see an improved and healthy Ben Simmons in the 2023/24 season, as he looks to be the face of a completely new look Nets outfit.
Matisse Thybulle – Portland Trail Blazers
