If you’ve already binge-watched every season of Netflix’s Drive to Survive and still haven’t quite quenched your F1 thirst, you’re in luck because Apple TV+ is working on its own Lewis Hamilton documentary.
He’s an enigmatic, interesting and unique individual, not to mention one of the best Formula 1 drivers of all time. So we’re going to go out on a limb and say it’s going to be must-watch.
Here’s what we know about the project so far.
What is the Lewis Hamilton documentary called?
At the time of publishing, the project remains untitled.
We will be sure to update this story when the documentary title is announced.
“The documentary will feature full access to Hamilton and his team, on and off the track, and an all-star cast of guest interviews,” a press release from Apple declared.
When and where will the Lewis Hamilton documentary be released?
We are yet to hear a release date, or even be given a vague idea as to when we can expect to see the upcoming Lewis Hamilton documentary on streaming services and/or in cinemas. We will be sure to update this story when a release date is announced.
When it eventually gets released, we know it will be dropping on Apple TV+. It remains unclear, however, if it will also receive a theatrical release, as Apple TV+ has done with some other high-profile projects.
What do we know about the project?
We know very little about the project, what it will cover or who exactly is going to be giving interviews. However, we do know that Box To Box Films (the production company behind the hugely successful Drive to Survive) is involved, so we can likely expect the same sort of drama and excitement in this project.
The project will be directed by British filmmaker Matt Kay (Little Miss Sumo) alonfside producer Penni Thow and executive producers Scott Budnick and Richard Plepler.
Hamilton himself will serve as a producer for the film, and will give an intimate look at his life and impressive career. But as for what exactly that looks like, your guess is as good as ours right now.
Is there a trailer?
There is no trailer for the untitled Lewis Hamilton documentary just yet, check back at a later date.
What other documentaries are available right now?
While you may have to wait a while to watch the Lewis Hamilton documentary, you won’t be bored because there are dozens of sporting docu-series and films on streaming services right now for your bingeing pleasure.
In addition to Formula 1: Drive to Survive itself, there is also Full Swing (golf), The Test (cricket), Make or Break (surfing), Welcome to Wrexham (football), as well as an upcoming Netflix project on Le Tour De France.
