Netflix‘s latest Drive to Survive-style docu-series has landed.
Now… is it in the rough or on the fairway? Time will tell.
Eight episodes of Full Swing, following around the PGA Tour, are now available on the streaming giant at long last.
Golf was presented with incredibly unique challenges throughout last year’s tour, as Greg Norman’s LIV Golf stampeded its way into the framework; the breakaway tour we covered quite extensively last year.
What is Full Swing?
According to Netflix, the new series will follow a “diverse group of professional golfers — on and off the course — during a relentless season of competition.”
The series is produced by Vox Media Studios and Box to Box Films (the people behind Formula 1: Drive to Survive) in partnership with the PGA Tour.
The series appears to feature a range of top-ranked players to the more modestly performing guys.

Who is involved in Full Swing?
Netflix has recruited all of the PGA big shots for this series, including defending PGA Championship winner Justin Thomas. Other players who are slated to appear throughout the series include Collin Morikawa, Rory McIlroy, Scottie Scheffler, Brooks Koepka, Ian Poulter, Joel Dahmen, Matt Fitzpatrick, Dustin Johnson, Tony Finau, Sahith Theegala, Mito Pereira and Joaquin Niemann.
What Does The Series Cover?
Full Swing will cover the biggest events in the PGA Tour’s calendar, including the 150th Open Championship — which took place in Scotland last year — as well as The Players, The Masters, the PGA Championship, the US Open and the FedExCup Playoffs.
Open and Players champion Cam Smith was obviously right in the thick of it, before announcing his eventual defection to LIV. Aussies will be keeping a close eye on his 2022 journey and how much its woven into storylines.
Then there’s Rory McIlroy, who’s been on an admirable anti-LIV crusade. As he became more vocal down the stretch last year, his form actually also corresponded; falling agonisingly short to Smith in the Open but returning to that competitive beast he’s known as. The Northern Irishman understands how much the sport needs good press, which is where Full Swing comes in.
“If I want the game that I love to be played by future generations, the game needs to be pushed forward,” Rory McIlroy says in the trailer.
In addition to the actual events on the sporting calendar, the series takes a deep dive into the personal lives of athletes — which will hopefully have us all as invested in the PGA golfers as we now are with every F1 driver.
Considering the ongoing battle between the PGA and the controversial LIV Golf that will likely become a storyline, the docu-series promises to be entertaining. Episode titles would reveal the PGA isn’t shying away from the chaos and disruption LIV has created. Fair play.
“You picked a hell of a year to start following the PGA Tour,” says Ian Poulter in the trailer.
What are people saying about Full Swing?
We’ll be keeping a very close eye on this over the next 24-48 hours.
For now, it’s a little too early to call. But it appears to be mostly positive sentiment to this point.

What else can I watch after smashing Full Swing?
If you’re a fan of the Drive to Survive format, you’re in luck because it feels like there is a new sporting series being released every single week.
In addition to Formula 1: Drive to Survive itself, there is also Break Point (tennis), The Test (cricket), Make or Break (surfing), Welcome to Wrexham (football), as well as an upcoming Netflix project on Le Tour De France.
